Am I getting ripped off for a seat repair for a 2002 camaro?

I have a large rip in my driver seat and significant wear on my panger seat. It is all leather and partially perforated. I took it to the dealer and an upholstery shop and neither said they could fix it. the upholstery shop is going to charge me $1500 for a leather kit to fix it. I have never had to have seats fixed before so i dont know if its a good price or not. Where i live they have no competition so they could charge how much they want. All I know is its $500 cheaper than the dealer can give it to me but they always have everything overpriced. I am i getting a decent price for it or is there a better place to go in west Texas or around Dallas?
