Drivers getting angry with me?

Where I live, more and more red light camera are being installed at major intersections. Now we all know that a right turn on red is permitted unless otherwise signed. As to not trigger the cameras, though I started not turning right at all on red and waiting for the green light. I know, I can still turn on red when safe as it is permitted but it is not mandatory. I now do this at all intersections now regardless of cameras or not. Sometimes, the drivers behind me get pissed of and sound their horns at me. This is not right. Beeping at someone not going on green is one thing, but on a red? Come on! I swear my city has the most impatient drivers. They also honk at drivers who wont turn in front of pedestrians. They have the right of way, wait! What can I do to increase awareness of the legality of non turning on red and waiting for pedestrians?
