Has anyone had HEAVY bleeding during their first weeks of pregnancy?

i took an early detection pregnancy test...and it came out positive. but two days later,when my period was due, i had heavy bleeding. it lasted for about 5 days, but was only heavy for the first two days? it felt just like my normal menstrual cycle! is this normal! what should i do? somebody please help me...
