I live in a one-story home with a fireplace that does not draw well. Any suggestions?

While I'm not a fire place expert, I can tell you that what I do to ensure a good draw is to lay the fire, light it and then light a couple of pieces of newspaper on top of the wood to get a quick hot fire to initiate a draw up the chimney. Then the fire seems to build itself up just fine.
